Some shops call them “throwaway blades.” At Mack Saw, we call them reusable.

Many quality blades can be professionally sharpened three or four times before they need to be replaced. In fact, customers often tell us their blades cut better after we sharpen them than they did when they were new.

Even when a blade can no longer be sharpened, it may still be worth saving. If the steel body is strong, we can often replace the carbide tips for less than the cost of a new blade.

With prices continuing to rise, sharpening and retipping can save you real money. Before throwing away a quality blade purchased from a warehouse or home-improvement store, bring it to Mack Saw. We’ll inspect it and let you know whether it can be sharpened, repaired, or retipped.
